What changes will the ZAS Upgrade Wizard install on my AED Plus?
The most important change introduced in 6.24 is the change to deeper compressions. The CPR "bar gauge" and the prompting for PUSH HARDER and GOOD COMPRESSIONS have been changed so that a good compression must now be at least a full 2 inches deep. (See display screens below. Note the new half-tone patterned bar that does not obscure the indicator lines.)
We also include the Graphics Change to the AED faceplate.
You are not required to do anything more than upgrade the software in your AED Plus. However, we do include the face of your AED Plus by applying two stick-on labels that will cover up the icons for "OPEN AIRWAY" and "CHECK BREATHING", which are no longer used according to the AHA's 2010 Guidelines. The pictures below show how these labels will change the face of your AED Plus once they have been applied.
